The tricky part:
Public art has to do more than look good, it needs to reflect the community it serves. Circling the Square needed designs that told local stories, connected with heritage, and worked on a large scale, all while staying meaningful to the people who would see them every day.
The way forward:
I took care of the graphics and 3D design, while the Circling the Square team managed the design structure and fabrication. Each project was uniquely crafted, with visuals tailored to reflect the local community. From bold colours to 3D mock-ups, every design drew inspiration from local culture and stories. To deepen the connection, we ran workshops in schools and community centres, inviting residents to share ideas that directly shaped the final pieces.
The final outcome:
The results were transformative, public spaces became vibrant works of art that residents could take pride in. The combination of creative visuals and local collaboration created projects that felt truly connected to their communities.
